NLP - The One Question that Changed My Limiting Belief in an Instant

I was working today on one of my limiting belief with NLP tools that I know are very effective to change attitudes and negative emotions in an instant.

As expected, I was a totally different person after 20 minutes of the initial exercise. My view of the world expanded and I felt more emotionally rich.

I thought that a lot of people misunderstand what it means to be rich. Is it just financially, or is it emotionally, mentally and spiritually?

As I was reflecting on the meaning of the word rich or wealth, my wife came into the kitchen a little bit depressed. We talked for 5 minutes. As I was reading a book on different ways to change limiting beliefs, I just asked her “What is one of your limiting beliefs right now?” She told me “I feel ugly”.

And I asked her a question that I just read to see if it would work on her as well.

“How would you like it if we applied this ugliness to all others and all other times and all other places” How would this statement sound if everything on this planet earth was ugly, if everybody, every place was ugly, wouldn’t that be a great place to live?”

Just picture an ugly earth, with ugly trees, ugly sky, ugly sun, ugly everything and you in the middle of it.

And we just laughed. And she said “No, I’m not ugly, but you know…” and she didn’t finish the sentence as I expected.

Questions are the best way to change your mind, turn your emotions and thoughts upside down to see things differently and see things from a brighter point of view.
